about
I looked up. I could hear his name bouncing around from one atom to the next until the shock wave was too distant from my ears to be deciphered from the buzz of the street lamp across the street. Then, as if something had heard me say it,the night sky flashed. Not light---shadow. Looking out onto the calm, pale-dark atmosphere a sudden black
form---cast from the tree in the front yard---appeared and vanished again. The words came an instant later.
I smiled--- yet another friend I remembered but barely knew whose death seemed to affect me more strongly than the
passing of my own grandmother. I removed the image I'd just heard from the heavens, went inside and interpreted it the only way I knew how.
